Carius Curne, one of the country’s top offensive line recruits coming out of high school, spent a single season at LSU before entering the transfer portal.

It seems as if LSU isn’t willing to let him go that easily. According to Curne, LSU is withholding paperwork that Curne needs to complete a transfer. He posted the following to his X account on Saturday morning:

Curne is a former four-star recruit who was rated the No. 3 interior lineman and a Top 75 overall recruit in the class of 2025 by 247Sports’ Composite. As a true freshman, he appeared in eight games for the Tigers, starting in five.

However, in the wake of the Brian Kelly firing and Lane Kiffin‘s subsequent hiring in Baton Rouge, Curne entered the transfer portal, where he’ll be a high-demand front-five option.

A total of 20 LSU players have entered the transfer portal. That list is topped by Caden Durham, who ran for 1,258 yards and nine touchdowns in two seasons with the Tigers. That said, there’s no word — at least not yet — of the university holding any paperwork for their respective transfers as they apparently are doing right now with Curne.

We’ll see how things ultimately shake out with Curne and what his next destination ends up being.
