Outbreaks across the SEC cause fans, media to generate creative scheduling ideas

Would you like the Iron Bowl to be played twice this year?
That is one of the options being tossed around by SEC fans and media on Monday afternoon after news of the postponement of the Mississippi State-Auburn game this week, and rising positive tests at Texas A&M and LSU. Arkansas coach Sam Pittman also announced on Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19.
If scheduling becomes an issue, and the Dec. 12 built-in rescheduling date becomes an issue, would it be possible to move up games like the Iron Bowl? That remains doubtful, but it is interesting to consider the possibility Tennessee-Auburn moving up one week.
Here’s a sampling of some of the options floated, and other scheduling notes:
Give us two Iron Bowls this year!

I wonder if the SEC would consider matching up some teams who are relatively virus free this weekend?

Fantasy land: Auburn and Alabama could play this weekend while LSU and Mississippi State recover from COVID issues.
Reality land: No. Not happening.

Greg Sankey and the SEC should – if at ALL possible – move the title game back one week. Not easy but this is the season to adjust on the fly. Two makeup weekends would be ideal at this point and would give the league a real shot at no one losing more than one game.

More fun scheduling notes:
MSU hasn’t played two regular season games after the Egg Bowl since 1936 when they played *checks notes* Mercer (W, 32-0) and Florida (W, 7-0).
The Bulldogs also lost the Orange Bowl to Duquesne that same year 13-12. https://t.co/OJWlh4M6aP
