UCLA is off to a rough start and the Pac-12 is reveling in the agony. The Bruins, now members of the Big Ten, fell to 0-3 with Friday night’s loss to New Mexico. Up next is a bye week as they prepare for a road matchup at Northwestern (1-1) next weekend.

It’s a tough slate for UCLA the rest of the way, with opponents including No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State, and No. 22 Indiana. The Pac-12 took some time to troll UCLA on social media on Saturday.

UCLA played in the Pac-12 from 1928 until 2023, claiming a national title (1954) and 17 conference championships. The Pac-12 is currently a 2-member conference of Oregon State and Washington State, with new members pledged to join.

UCLA hasn’t had a double-digit victory season since back-to-back instances under Jim L. Mora in 2013-14. The Bruins have only ended a season ranked once since then, in 2022 under Chip Kelly.

The all-time series between UCLA and Northwestern is tied at 3, with the Bruins taking the last 3 contests. UCLA and Northwestern last met in the 2005 Sun Bowl, a 50-38 win for the Bruins. Northwestern’s most recent victory against UCLA dates back to a 19-0 shutout in Los Angeles on Sept. 25, 1948.
