Pair of Georgia football players arrested on reckless driving charges Wednesday night
Another day, another dawn… and another arrest of Georgia football players for driving-related issues.
According to Connor Riley of DawgNation, Georgia linebackers Chris Cole and Darren Ikinnagbon were arrested on Wednesday. The men were charged with reckless driving misdemeanors, per the Athens-Clarke County arrest log.
Cole, a rising junior, also received a misdemeanor for exceeding the maximum limit. Ikinnagbon, a former 4-star prospect who ranked No. 94 in 247Sports’ Composite rankings of the 2025 class, had misdemeanors for exceeding the maximum limit and following too closely added to his ledger.
“We are aware of the charges and are actively gathering additional information,” a Georgia team spokesperson said in a statement on the arrests, according to Riley. “As this is an ongoing legal matter, we will not be providing further comment at this time.”
Last season, the Bulldogs had three players — Nyier Daniels, Marques Easley and Nitro Tuggle — leave their program following driving arrests. These sorts of infractions date back years for Georgia, though. Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter is one of many former players to have been arrested for actions they made behind the wheel.
The Bulldogs open the 2026 campaign versus the Tennessee State Tigers on Saturday, Sept. 5.
