Pat McAfee has given a lot of money to college kids and charities so far this college football season. The former Indianapolis Colts punter puts money on the line each week in his College GameDay “Kicking is Easy” competition.

He did so again last weekend in Iowa City, but is correcting a perceived “wrong” from that morning, too.

During the Monday episode of his namesake show, McAfee revealed he’d be donating $1 million to the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital. The decision came after some confusion from the Iowa edition of “Kicking is Easy.”

McAfee’s explained what all transpired while announcing the donation.

“I offer up money for the hospital, and for her, if she ends up winning… she doesn’t make it… then Dallas Clark does it for $150K,” McAfee recounted. “A lot of people were coming after me a little bit for not doing the [$1 million] donation. I think those people were pretty right. It didn’t feel right, after I was thinking about it. We’ll donate [$1 million].”

McAfee added that his TV program and the hospital, which is on the receiving end of the waves from Kinnick Stadium at the end of first quarters of Hawkeye games, “will be doing some work together” in the future.

Iowa (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) travels to Washington (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) on Friday night (9:00 p.m. E.T.).
