Pat McAfee opens College GameDay with a rendition of ‘The Eyes of Texas’

Pat McAfee definitely is a pro at playing to the home crowd. So, it’s no surprise the ESPN analyst and now country music artist turned to a familiar tune to get the Texas fans riled up during the opening segment of College GameDay.
No. 4 Texas is hosting No. 1 Ohio State in the highlight matchup of the weekend. It’s not like the Longhorns faithful needs any more juice to get excited. But the showman McAfee broke out a rendition of “The Eyes of Texas” as the exuberant crowd gleefully sang along.
McAfee then issued a challenge to Texas fans.
“Don’t suck today,” McAfee said. “If you’re bad, the team will be bad and if you make the kick, the team will win. If you miss the kick, your team will lose. Never forget it. Let’s have an incredible morning in Austin.”
This has the chance to be a statement game for the Longhorns that could go a long way towards establishing a solid College Football Playoff resume. It’s also the first of 7 games this season against ranked opponents, which will provide ample opportunities to impress the committee.
Ohio State at Texas will take place at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ABC.
