The Pittsburgh Panthers secured a massive win on Friday night when they went on the road and handed James Franklin and the Virginia Tech Hokies a shocking 35-33 loss inside Lane Stadium.
Virginia Tech had a chance to win the game with a buzzer beating field goal, but senior kicker John Love pushed the ball wide left as time expired to secure the win for the Panthers.
Pitt head coach Patt Narduzzi was extremely pumped after the win, and he sent a very clear message to AP Poll voters during his post game interview with ESPN sideline reporter Dana Boyle.
“We’ve got a helluva football team,” Narduzzi exclaimed. “If any of the AP voters wake their asses up, they might figure that out.”
There’s no denying that Pitt is an extremely good squad, and their 5-0 record reflects that. They’ve put themselves right at the top of what’s shaping up to be a very crowded ACC title picture, and they don’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
If Narduzzi and the rest of the Panthers can continue building momentum down the back half of the campaign, then they could end up making a run at their first College Football Playoff appearance in program history come December.
