The Kamario Taylor hype train has gained some serious speed over the first few weeks of the 2026 college football season, with many fans and analysts pegging the Mississippi State quarterback as the next superstar in the sport.
The 6’4, 230-pound dual threat gunslinger can do it all, and he has put the Bulldogs back into the national spotlight for the first time in what seems like forver with his stellar play.
One person who is extremely high on Taylor is none other than SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum, who compared the talented signal caller to another former MSU great on SEC Nation Saturday morning.
“We came here (Tuscaloosa) 10 years ago, and they (Mississippi State) had Dak Prescott,” Finebaum said. “They have a quarterback now that may be better than Dak Prescott was.”
There’s no denying that Taylor is a truly gifted quarterback, but living up to and surpassing the legacy that Dak Prescott left behind in Starkville is a tough task even for him.
That being said, if Taylor can lead the Bulldogs to their first win over Alabama since 2007 on Saturday then he will take another massive step towards becoming the new standard bearer in Mississippi State history.
