The Ole Miss Rebels engaged in some gamesmanship ahead of their heavyweight fight with the LSU Tigers when lawyers served papers to defensive lineman Princewill Umanmielen on Tuesday afternoon. Fans believe Lane Kiffin returned the favor on Wednesday night when he listed quarterback Sam Leavitt as “doubtful” on the injury report. For that reason, Paul Finebaum thinks Pete Golding isn’t sweating anything.

Finebaum joined ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike show on Thursday to talk Leavitt, Kiffin and everything else about Saturday’s game. The SEC Network host declared Golding wouldn’t be affected by any of Kiffin’s antics.

“I doubt Pete Golding is wasting a lot of time with this. It’s Thursday, there’s not a whole lot you can do. That game plan is in. The game plan has probably been in for a while,” Finebaum said. “At this point, you just assume that Sam Leavitt is going to be in the game… I don’t think Pete Golding is going to let this bother him. Remember, he worked for Lane Kiffin. He’s seen this movie before.”

Fans and analysts alike are full of anticipation for the LSU-Ole Miss matchup. As soon as Kiffin left Oxford for Baton Rouge, the whole country was waiting to see when the Tigers and Rebels would meet in 2026. The suspense comes to an end at 7:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday night (ABC).
