Paul Finebaum tears into LSU leadership, Lane Kiffin over signing ex-pros

Paul Finebaum was once teased by his SEC Nation co-hosts for supposedly “leaving the sides” on his haircut. This morning, not even the sides of buildings in Baton Rouge were standing after he hopped off his soapbox.
Finebaum went scorched earth on Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers during SEC Nation’s first episode of the year. The SEC Network personality likened head coach Lane Kiffin to a teenager, and his supposed bosses to absentee figures.

“We can all wrap our arms around Lane Kiffin… but in the end, he’s a child. He’s a 51-year-old man behaving like a 16-year-old,” Finebaum said. “And the worst part: there are no adults in the room.”
“I thought all college campuses have an athletic director. The one at LSU has been nowhere to be found. The [university] president, Wade Rousse, has been nowhere to be found. [Governor Jeff Landry] is calling all the shots,” Finebaum continued. “I wonder if there’s any supervision. Does LSU have a board of supervisors? Is someone in charge to allow this to go on… what happened down there has left a stain on this league.”
Finebaum added that “if the presidents of the SEC took a vote today, they very well might vote to kick LSU out of the league,” and claimed fans “would not be the least bit upset by it.” He also lauded SEC commissioner Greg Sankey as a “hero.” His full stance was seemingly supported by an onlooker who clapped throughout his musings.
LSU, who did not add Dae’Quan Wright or Zxavian Harris to its roster for Week 1, hosts Clemson tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
