Jared Curtis had taken over as the starter for Vanderbilt in Week 3, but the freshman quarterback has been dealing with an injury that had him questionable for the game against Georgia.
However, ESPN reporter Pete Thamel was able to provide an update that Curtis is going to try and give it a go, but won’t officially decide until he is evaluated pre-game on Saturday.

Before he committed to Vanderbilt, Curtis was actually committed to Kirby Smart and Georgia. The Commodores are coming off one of the best seasons in school history, and getting a player of his ranking was a huge get for coach Clark Lea.
Curtis has played in four games this year, becoming the starter in the last two. This year, he has thrown for 746 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.
Vanderbilt is coming off a loss to Auburn in the SEC opener, as the Commdores lost that game 21-15. In that game, Curtis was 22-of-33 for 199 yards and one interception. He was also sacked four times. That could be a bad sign against a Georgia defense that is looking like it is once again one of the best in the country
While his status ultimately won’t be decided until Saturday, the fact he was able to get through the Friday walk-through with no issue is definitely a positive sign moving forward.
