Tennessee is officially an Adidas school once again.

This July, the Vols’ previous contract with Nike expired and was replaced by a fresh deal with Adidas. For Tennessee, it’s a return to a previous era โ€” the Vols worked with Adidas for a 20-year stretch that began in 1995.

Tennessee legend Peyton Manning helped usher in the next era of this partnership with a social media promo released on Thursday morning:

Manning’s time with the Vols in the 1990s overlapped with Tennessee’s first Adidas stint. Other Vols legends such as Candace Parker, Eric Berry, Tamika Catchings and many more.

Tennessee’s new deal with Adidas will span 10 years. The contract was initially announced back in August of 2025.

“Our mission is to build the nation’s premier athletics department and set the standard in college sports,” athletic director Danny White said in a press release. “Partnering with adidas is a natural fit, as their commitment to being the world’s leading sports brand aligns with our vision. We are excited to unveil our new adidas partnership and showcase a fresh look to Vol Nation in the coming days.”

Per a press release, Tennessee will begin sharing new uniform designs from Adidas for all of its official sports. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase new gear from the school on July 10.

The first Tennessee athletics competition with Adidas as its uniform partner will be on Aug. 5 โ€” a men’s soccer exhibition match against Clemson. Tennessee football will kick off the 2026 season exactly 1 month later against Furman.
