Peyton Manning is set to ride off into the sunset.
According to the Denver Post’s Woody Paige, citing a couple unnamed sources, Manning will announce his retirement from the NFL by the end of the week.
If the report is true — and Manning doesn’t play anywhere else next season, he could go down as the game’s all-time best quarterback. Paige hasn’t completely closed the door on Manning returning for another team but said it’s “implausible” he would choose to play with another franchise one more year.
Although Paige is saying Manning will retire, the Broncos don’t know about it yet, according to the team’s vice president of public relations.
Peyton has not made a decision on his future. Plan remains for him to continue talks with the team this week. https://t.co/2YcjDCCQSg

Whenever and wherever Manning decides to hang it up, it certainly won’t take long for him to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The minimum is five years after retirement.
