Leonard Fournette has affectionately been referred to as Playoff Lenny this postseason. There was a time, however, when the former LSU standout would not have approved of the nickname.

Fournette’s mother, Lory, shared with WWL reporter Andrew Doak that the Tampa Bay Buccaneer running back hated being called “Lenny” by his uncle.

A quick look at Leonard’s Twitter feed shows that he has fully embraced the “Playoff Lenny” nickname.

Playoff Lenny is a big reason why the Bucs are in Sunday’s Super Bowl. In Tampa Bay’s three postseason wins, Fournette has carried the ball 48 times for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 14 catches for 102 yards and another TD.

Another big game carrying and catching the ball could make him Super Bowl MVP Lenny.
