If a hotel chain could sponsor a slate of games, this would be the week. With Hurricane Matthew postponing LSU at Florida and causing scheduling problems across the league, a host of road teams prevail.

Here are our headline predictions for Week 6:

Auburn at Mississippi State: Mullen curse crushes Gus

The budding rivalry between Gus Malzahn and Dan Mullen takes another step as Nick Fitzgerald builds on his impressive touchdown-to-interception ratio. In the latest drama to hit The Plains, Rhett Lashlee’s late-game play-calling is called into question.

Tennessee at Texas A&M: Destiny delivers again?

The Vols don’t come out quite as rocky as they have in recent weeks, but still have some tenuous moments in a raucous Kyle Field as they move on to a colossal showdown with the Crimson Tide. Derek Barnett delivers another Player of the Week-type performance as Trevor Knight has a long afternoon.

Vanderbilt at Kentucky: ‘Cats stun ‘Dores on Johnson’s heave

Vanderbilt can’t escape in the last minute this time, as Stephen Johnson heaves a Hail Mary pass to a streaking C.J. Conrad over the middle for a last-second win for Kentucky. The play overshadows a memorable showdown between two of the SEC’s top backs, Ralph Webb and Stanley “Boom” Williams.

Alabama at Arkansas: Damien dazzles the Hogs

Limited by a lingering ankle injury, Damien Harris busts out for his third 100-yard game as the Razorbacks hang around for a while, but Alabama pulls away in the end. The pregame worries about Austin Allen don’t last long as Alabama largely keeps him bottled up.

Georgia at South Carolina: iMac delivers one more time

The hero of the Missouri game turns in another memorable performance as the Bulldogs prevail in sloppy conditions. Isaiah McKenzie uses touchdowns on offense and on punt returns to set himself up for Special Teams Player of the Week hardware.
