Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott’s name will be littered throughout the MSU record book when his career with the Bulldogs eventually comes to an end.

He got a head-start on that mission Saturday, breaking the school record for total offense in a single season with a 48-yard touchdown run in the first half of the Bulldogs’ showdown with UT Martin.

Prescott had 2,929 yards on the season following the touchdown, breaking former MSU quarterback Tyler Russell’s school record of 2,892 in 2012. The Bulldogs’ Heisman hopeful had 2,784 total yards entering Saturday’s action, and those yards came through the air, on the ground and as a wide receiver (Prescott has two receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown in 2014).
