Princeton Fant, former Tennessee TE, suffers knee injury at Dallas Cowboys practice

It’s been a bad week for former Tennessee Volunteers standouts at NFL practices.
Former Tennessee tight end Princeton Fant suffered an apparent knee injury and had to be helped and later carter off the field while practicing for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday. According to a report from Dallas News’ Calvin Watkins, Fant is expected to receive an MRI to determine the severity of his injury.

Fant is entering his second season in the NFL after 4 seasons with the Volunteers. The former Vols tight end was used mostly as a blocker, but carved out a role as a goal line rusher in 2022. The Vols’ Swiss Army Knife totaled 8 touchdowns in 2022 — 5 rushing and 3 receiving to go with 245 receiving yards.
Fant has spent his entire NFL career in Dallas, hopping on and off the Cowboys’ practice squad. He’s appeared in 9 NFL contests — 8 in 2024 and 1 last season against Arizona.
Earlier this week, former Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell suffered an LCL tear while practicing with the Carolina Panthers. It was reported on Thursday that Brazzell will have surgery, which will end his rookie season.
