Quinn Ewers is coming back to Texas to play in the SEC next season.

Ewers led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff this past season. Texas ultimately lost to Washington in the Sugar Bowl. He accounted for 3,479 passing yards with 27 touchdowns as the team finished with an 12-2 record.

Here’s what Ewers had to say to Texas fans in his letter to them:

“Dear Longhorn Nation, ever since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of playing quarterback at the University of Texas,” said Ewers. “I couldn’t be more thankful to all my teammates and coaches, and I am beyond grateful to be in the position that I’m in. God has shown me who I truly am these past 2 years I’ve been here. Through the ups and downs, these fans and this university has always had my back. With that being said, I’m coming back.”

Ewers didn’t start his college career at Texas. He began at Ohio State, where he stayed for 1 season before transferring to Texas. Ewers was the No. 1 QB and No. 1 prospect out of Texas in the 2021 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He was a 5-star quarterback out of Southlake (TX) Carroll.

It was reported by Pete Thamel earlier this season that Ewers was considering sticking around to develop further as a quarterback. The homegrown talent is heading back to the Lone Star State for another chance to win a national title.
