Quinn Ewers is looking into staying in Austin for another season, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Thamel shared Saturday that there’s an increasing feeling that another year to develop would set up Ewers for long-term NFL success, per sources.

It might make more sense for Ewers to wait another year with how much quarterback talent there might be in the 2024 NFL Draft. Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are both expected to leave the college ranks after this season.

Ewers led Texas to an 11-1 record this year and has accounted for 2,709 yards passing with 22 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Texas’ last game with a Big 12 opponent is a big one. The Longhorns face Oklahoma State in Arlington for the Big 12 Championship. Texas needs a win before it can start scoreboard-watching for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The Big 12 Championship is set for a noon ET kickoff from the home of the Dallas Cowboys. Texas has a chance to leave the Big 12 on top.
