South Carolina transfer running back Rahsul Faison was finally deemed eligible by the NCAA on Monday.
Following that announcement, Faison’s agent, Bryan Miller, released a statement on the matter.
“Despite the uncertainty, Rahsul never stopped working and he’s been locked in since the moment he got to Columbia,” the statement reads. “We all know how much this means to him and we are all excited to see him against the Hokies in Game 1.”
Here’s the statement in full:
Faison has been practicing with the Gamecocks since the beginning of the month, and with less than a week to go before the start of the season, he has finally been cleared to participate fully and play for South Carolina.
The Gamecocks needed him at running back after the loss of Rocket Sanders. He instantly becomes the best running back on the South Carolina roster after he had 1,109 yards on the ground with eight rushing touchdowns on 198 carries. He is a massive key player in this offense.
South Carolina will open this upcoming season with Virginia Tech on Aug. 31.
