Texas A&M took care of business on Saturday night in College Station, beating Mississippi State 31-9.
The Bulldogs kicked a field goal in the first quarter, but were unable to do much offensively after that drive. A 44-yard Brenen Thompson touchdown pass is all Mississippi State was able to manage for the rest of the game.
Texas A&M‘s defense was dominant, limiting the Bulldogs to just 4.3 yards per play on the night.
The defense made up for some of A&M’s offensive woes, particularly early in the game. The Aggies only scored 7 points before the break, but still look a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
Before the night was over, though, Texas A&M found its rhythm offensively. The Aggies ended up averaging 6.2 yards per play as Marcel Reed threw for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Rueben Owens also made some big contributions as he rushed for 142 yards on the night.
Texas A&M will look to remain undefeated against Florida next week.
