Recently hospitalized Tennessee LB coach William Inge releases statement

William Inge is appreciative of all the support he has received from Vol Nation and beyond during a recent medical issue.
Tennessee made an announcement on Thursday that Inge had recently been hospitalized for what the program only described as a personal medical issue. On Friday, the program released a statement from Inge in which he says, “I am fighting this illness…”
“I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers,” Inge’s statement read. “I am resting comfortably. I am fighting this illness just like our team fights on Saturdays on the field. I look forward to supporting our team and wish them well tomorrow. GBO.”

Inge is in his third season on Josh Heupel‘s coaching staff. The 52-year-old has multiple decades of coaching experience.
A former Iowa defensive lineman, Inge got his start as a graduate assistant at his alma mater in 1999. In 2012, he was on the Buffalo Bills’ coaching staff as assistant defensive line coach. He returned to the college ranks at Indiana in 2013. Inge was on Kalen DeBoer’s staff at Fresno State and Washington before landing on Rocky Top.
No. 14 Tennessee hosts No. 1 Texas on Saturday. The game is set for a noon ET kickoff from Neyland Stadium.
