LSU is projected to get a commitment from a 5-star cornerback after his visit over the weekend.
Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong is predicting that class of 2027’s Joshua Dodson will wind up in Baton Rouge.
Dobson was in town from Thursday through Sunday, with LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond guiding the visit. This comes after Raymond and LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker visited Dobson in North Carolina.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound native of North Carolina is regarded as the No. 3 overall player and top cornerback in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Other programs Dobson is considering includes Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, and Texas, according to Sports Illustrated.
New LSU head coach Lane Kiffin is highly regarded for his recruiting abilities and that’s already on display. LSU landed the No. 1-ranked portal class in the country, with three of the top-five transfers. LSU only has two high school commitments so far for the Class of 2027, yet they stand to be in the mix for Dobson and other top prospects.
Kiffin makes his LSU debut in the 2026 season opener vs. Clemson on Sept. 5.
