Report: Boise State-Florida State Week 1 game could be moved from Jacksonville

Hurricane Dorian is strengthening near the U.S. Virgin Islands, and it is heading for the Florida coast.
The potential for damage is growing by the day, and it could affect a number of lives. Secondary to that, there is also a football game scheduled to be played in Jacksonville on Saturday, as Boise State is traveling to play Florida State.
However, according to reporter Dan Hicken, officials for both schools are in contact with the Jacksonville mayor and Florida governor to discuss potentially moving the game:
Mayor, Governor, FSU and Boise officials in contact about Saturdays game here in Jax….should know more tomorrow but game could be moved up to earlier kick or moved to Tallahassee… obviously public safety comes first

Governor Ron DeSantis has already declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the storm hitting this weekend:

It’s unclear when the final decision will be made, but the main thing is public safety. If moving the game to Tallahassee takes stress off Jacksonville emergency responders, it may be a good idea.
