Alabama’s spring practices didn’t get off to a great start, as QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered a hand injury during the first session.
However, the injury is believed to be relatively minor, affecting his throwing hand.
According to AL.com, Tagovailoa’s injury is a sprain and the team expects him to return before the spring session is over:
The hand injury Tua Tagovailoa suffered Tuesday is believed to just be a sprain and he should be able to return to practice in at least a limited capacity at some point soon, sources told AL.com.
The sophomore suffered the injury when his hand hit off an offensive lineman while he made a pass during the Crimson Tide’s first spring practice on Tuesday.
Obviously, no injury is a good one this time of year, but it could have been worse.
With Tagovailoa competing with Jalen Hurts for the starting job, he’ll need to come back at 100 percent to keep himself in the running.
