Report: Former UCF kicker, YouTube star Donald De La Haye suing the school after losing scholarship
The attention-seeking school from central Florida is in the news once again, although this time, UCF probably wishes it wasn’t.
Former UCF kickerย Donald De La Haye is reportedly suing the school after he lost his athletic scholarship due to the success of his YouTube channel. The school took issue with the factย De La Haye was profiting from the videos.
Jeff Deal of WFTV 9 in Orlando broke the news of the lawsuit.
According to his lawsuit, the former UCF kickerย isย alleging the schoolย revoked his scholarshipย because heย exercised his right to free speech. His lawsuit also alleges he offered to demonetizeย his videos in order to keep his scholarship but that the NCAA requested he removeย all videos that so much as included a football, including one of De La Haye throwing a football on the beach with his girlfriend.
