With the 2021 season approaching, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are dealing with an off-the-field issue.

On Thursday, it was reported that walk-on WR Trip Wilson had been arrested by campus police on Wednesday for driving under the influence.

Per DJournal.com, Wilson had originally been stopped by police for speeding and improper equipment. Coach Mike Leach issued a statement on the arrest:

“We are aware of the matter and are continuing to collect more information,” Leach said in a statement. “We do not have further comment at this time.”

Wilson didn’t see any game action for the Bulldogs in 2020 and per the DJournal.com report, he didn’t have any catches in the scrimmage on Aug. 14.
