Eli Drinkwitz has reportedly filled the opening on his recruiting staff.

With former director of recruiting Jake Breske heading to Tennessee to reunite with Josh Heupel, former Auburn staffer Brett Whiteside is heading to Mizzou as chief recruiting officer, according to Doug Samuels of FootballScoop.

Whiteside was a long-time Gus Malzahn staffer. After following Malzahn from Arkansas State, Whiteside worked at Auburn in multiple roles during the former coach’s tenure as Director of Football Operations and Administration and the Director of Recruiting Operations.

At Arkansas State, Drinkwitz and Whiteside were both on Malzahn’s staff in 2012. Drinkwitz was the team’s running backs coach while Whiteside was Malzahn’s Director of Player Personnel.

Whiteside was not retained by new Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin.
