A Mizzou recruiting staffer will reportedly be reuniting with Josh Heupel at Tennessee.

According to John Brice of FootballScoop, Heupel is seeking to hire away Jake Breske to his Volunteers staff in a “director of recruiting-type of role.”

Breske has worked on the Mizzou recruiting staff for the past five seasons (2016-20). He got his start as recruiting assistant and moved up to director of recruiting operations. Eli Drinkwitz tapped Breske as his director of recruiting ahead of the 2020 season.

The 2016 season is also when Heupel arrived at Mizzou as the offensive coordinator. He left to be the head coach at UCF ahead of the 2018 season after Scott Frost’s departure for Nebraska.

Brice notes that Heupel has prioritized the recruiting department as he assembles his first Tennessee staff. Former UCF player personnel director Brandon Lawson and former Knights director of on-campus recruiting Angelia Brummett are among Heupel’s first UT hires.
