The Colorado Buffaloes started the year 5-0 and were in the top 25 for a while. However, things have changed dramatically since then.
Following a blowout loss at home against Utah on Saturday, the Buffaloes are now 5-6, and must beat a resurgent Cal team next weekend just to make a bowl.
According to ESPN’s Chris Low, coach Mike MacIntyre has been fired following the utter collapse in Boulder:
Just filed: Coloradoโs Mike MacIntyre has been fired, sources tell ESPN. The Buffs (5-6) have lost six straight games after finishing 5-7 a year ago. MacIntyre led Colorado to 10 wins and a Pac-12 championship game berth in 2016 while earning national coach of the year honors.

It’s been a rough couple of years for the Buffaloes, and MacIntyre is the scapegoat. When you lose six games in a row after a 5-0 start, fans are going to be upset.
Now, the question becomes who Colorado will get to replace him. It’s a big decision for a team that is on the verge of having some positive momentum.
