Robert Griffin III became a household name in the sports world during his time at Baylor. He will be headed home on Friday night, as he will be on the call for the Week 1 tilt between Baylor and Auburn on FOX. He will be on the call with Jason Benetti and Alexa Landestoy, per Baylor game notes.

Griffin heading back to Waco will be a reunion of where he became a superstar in the football world. He played four seasons at Baylor from 2008-2011. During his final season, he led the Bears to a 9-3 record, throwing for 4,293 yards, 37 touchdowns and six interceptions. He was also a home-run threat running the ball, as he finished with another 699 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.

He won the Heisman Trophy that season, while also taking home the Davey O’Brien Award and the Manning Award. After that season, he moved on to the NFL, and was the No. 2 pick by the then-Washington Redskins.

In his rookie season, he had a huge year for Washington, helping the team make it to the playoffs. He threw for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. He continued to show big play ability with his legs, as he rushed for another 815 yards and seven more touchdowns.

Injuries derailed a promising career, but he has since become a popular media figure and college football analyst.
