Rumor mill: An intriguing NFL team is reportedly interested in Leonard Fournette

This week has been a rough one so far for former LSU star RB Leonard Fournette. First, the Jacksonville Jaguars couldn’t find a trade partner for the former No. 4 overall pick.
Then, they decided to just release him, sending him to the waiver wire. All 31 other teams had a chance to take a flyer on Fournette, but they all passed on him.
However, the end of the week could be much better for Fournette. Per New England Patriots insider Jeff Howe, the Patriots have expressed interest in Fournette:
The Patriots have expressed interest in Leonard Fournette, per source. We'll see if it leads to anything. The fourth overall pick from 2017 has been a free agent for about 24 hours.

We saw the Pats take a flyer on former Auburn star QB and 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton after the Panthers cut him earlier this offseason, and he could be in line to start for the team in Week 1.
Could Fournette be added to a backfield that already includes SEC standouts Damien Harris (Alabama) and Sony Michel (Georgia). We could find out in a matter of days.
