Coach Alex Golesh and quarterback Byrum Brown are looking to bring the success they had together at USF to Auburn.
Golesh and Brown have a great relationship on and off the field, and they are both dedicated to being great. The pair also have a great running joke. Golesh told reporters on Monday that his quarterback will text him a photo of his parking spot if Brown gets to the team facility before him. Then, when Brown heads home for the day, Golesh texts him and says, “Hope you’re sleeping well.”
Brown spent his first 4 years at USF, where he put together a very impressive career. He threw for 7,690 yards, 61 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions. He has also become one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the country, as he rushed for another 2,265 yards and 31 touchdowns. Last year, he rushed for 1,008 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Having that type of success American Athletic Conference is one thing, but the duo is hoping that they can bring that type of offense to Auburn. Over the last few years, the Tigers have been a solid defense, but haven’t been able to create enough big plays on offense. If the duo of Golesh and Brown can put up those numbers in the SEC, Tigers fans are in store for a fun season.
