The No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide are preparing for what will likely be a season-defining matchup against Lane Kiffin and the No. 14 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge this Saturday in front of a packed Death Valley crowd.
Both teams will have their College Football Playoff hopes hanging in the balance when they take the field, with the winner gaining an inside track to a potential playoff berth, and the loser likely needing some outside help to make the final 12.
Kalen DeBoer’s team appears to have received a massive boost ahead of this all-important showdown, with On3 reporting on Friday that star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams is expected to return this weekend after missing the previous two games.
One of the most electric playmakers in the country, Coleman-Williams last suited up in Week 6 against Georgia, missing Alabama’s last two games against Tennessee and Texas A&M while dealing with a concussion and a knee injury that required surgery.

The shifty pass catcher was leading receiver for the Tide through the first six weeks of the season, hauling in 23 passes for 415 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also made an impact on special teams as well, contributing on both kickoff and punt returns.
Few players have the kind of impact Coleman-Williams does when he’s on the field, making his potential return a massive boost for the Tide heading into this must-win rivalry showdown.
