Ryan Coleman-Williams sets individual goal ahead of 2026 season at Alabama

Ryan-Coleman Williams and the Alabama football program have one major thing in common entering the 2026 season:
They’re hoping to bounce back from rocky seasons in a major way.
The former highly touted recruit out of Mobile, Alabama, starred as a true freshman in 2024, hauling in 48 passes for 865 yards and 8 touchdowns, good for 18 yards per catch.
But some injury struggles and drop concerns hindered Coleman-Williams’ 2025 production, prompting a sophomore slump with 689 yards and just 4 touchdowns.
Thus, the speedy wide receiving is hoping that by elevating his impact both on and off the field, the Crimson Tide will reap the benefits as a whole.
“Honestly, for myself, one of the biggest things that’s always been important to me is being a team captain for my squad,” Coleman-Williams said during his SEC Media Day appearance on Wednesday. “So I just — and I think with that it just allows me an opportunity to have — it’s like an extra chip on your shoulder just to be able to be my best self, because obviously I know the work that I have to put in from now until the first game and even throughout the season.”

And while many label him as one of the best returning receivers in the country, Coleman-Williams is more focused on team success than any dreams of winning the Biletnikoff Award or Heisman Trophy.
“I’m really just focusing in on that [being a captain],” Coleman-Williams said. “But I know the individual accolades will handle themselves. I guess I haven’t put too much thought into that.”
