Ryan Coleman-Williams has played with some good quarterbacks during his time at Alabama, having played with Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson before this season. This year, it is Keelon Russell, who had 206 yards and three touchdowns in the 31-13 upset win over LSU.
After the game, Coleman-Williams was asked about his quarterback, and the star receiver said that Russell is the best in the country.
“He’s a dog, I mean, everybody already knew that, we knew that especially, “Coleman-Williams said. “He is the best quarterback in the country, to me. I am excited to continue to see him grow week in and week. Obviously, he battled very hard today, and I am super proud of him.”
Coleman-Williams wasn’t the only person to give Russell praise on Saturday, as head coach Kalen DeBoer praised Russell after the game for showing the toughness to keep playing after being injured.
Alabama and LSU are one of the best rivalries in college football, and the stakes are high every year. This season, it was no different, as the Crimson Tide took a major step forward to making the College Football Playoff with the win.
If Russell is able to play at a level similar to how he did in the second half on Saturday, the Coleman-Williams might just be right that he is the best quarterback in the country.
