Ryan Day catches major heat for Cotton Bowl stinker in loss to Mizzou

Ryan Day might have had a disastrous quarterback situation in the Cotton Bowl, but he will get no sympathy from fans after that performance.
Heading into bowl season, all eyes were on Ohio State and Devin Brown who was preparing to mak his first career start in the Cotton Bowl. Unfortunately, that start would not last long before Brown was lifted due to an injury to his left ankle or foot.
Without Brown — and Kyle McCord who has already transferred to Syracuse — the Buckeyes were left with true freshman Lincoln Kienholz under center. Needless to say, things did not go well with Ohio State held to just 3 points in a disappointing Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri.
To be fair, Ohio State’s defense was once again up to the task and played lights out for much of the evening. But, without an offense to balance things out, the Buckeye defense eventually ran out of steam.
No matter how you slice it, it has been a disastrous season for Ryan Day, and he was shredded for another abysmal performance to end 2023. Take a look:
With tonight’s Cotton Bowl stinker, Ohio State averaged 30.5 PPG this season.
That’s the #Buckeyes‘ lowest total since 2011.
Ryan Day made $9.5 million this fall.

Ryan Day needs to stop beefing with 86 year olds and put up a fight against an actual team for once

3 points would be the lowest scoring output from Ohio State since they were shutout in the Fiesta Bowl semifinal against Clemson in 2016.
That 2016 team was the last Ohio State team without Ryan Day on staff.

Ohio State is now 2-13 vs the SEC in Bowl Games.
The worst record in College Football History against the SEC.
Ryan Day is also 0-3 vs the SEC.

ESPN announcers saying Ryan Day was “adamant” before the game they’re not going after a portal QB.
Devin Brown may well be a great player, but he’s gotten hurt 3 different times this year. There’s gonna need to be a Plan B (and maybe Plan C).

It’s all been downhill for Ryan Day since he met Mickey Mouse. That was the best day of his life and he’s never fully recovered from it
