Because we’re talking about the internet here, users commented under the post with jokes that Silverfield looks more like an Ace Hardware manager than an SEC football coach. Others said the new Razorbacks head coach lacks any semblance of aura.

On the final day of SEC Media Days Thursday, Silverfield addressed reporters in front of the podium and was asked about the topic of aura and his response to the internet jokes. According to him, he’s got enough aura to win football games, and that’s all that matters:

“I got a hot wife for a reason. I can get down. I can recite Notorious B.I.G. lyrics…I’ve got enough aura. Enough to find ways to win football games and that’s all that matters.”

Razorbacks fans could certainly use a few of those wins he’s talking about. Arkansas finished 0-8 in the SEC last season, 3-5 in 2024 and 1-7 in 2023. Arkansas was semi-competitive in 2021, but the Razorbacks haven’t posted a 10-win season since 2011. Silverfield, who comes to Fayetteville with a 50-25 head coaching record out of Memphis, is looking to change that.

The Ryan Silverfield era begins on September 5 as the Razorbacks host North Alabama.
