Former Mizzou quarterback Sam Horn has received his first assignment with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Horn was selected by the Dodgers in the 2025 MLB Draft last summer, but remained with Mizzou through the fall in order to play football for the Tigers. His departure from Mizzou has been expected since he suffered a season-ending injury in its season-opener last fall.
As noted by PowerMizzou, Horn is now a member of the LA Dodgers Arizona Complex League team. He’s on the 60-day DL but is expected to continue rehabbing there until he’s ready to make his pro debut.

It’s possible the Complex league is likely a temporary assignment for Horn as he rehabs his injury. That level is typically reserved for younger players who join the organization through international pathways.
The Dodgers picked Horn in the 17th round of the MLB Draft. Due to injuries and his football career, he threw just 15 innings in college baseball.
As for Mizzou football, the Tigers have already named Austin Simmons as their starting quarterback for the 2026 season. Former Mizzou QB Beau Pribula has also moved on this offseason, transferring to Virginia.
