Arkansas gave up at least 37 points for the third game in a row this season, as the Razorbacks fell against Auburn on Saturday, 38-23. It was also the first home loss for the Hogs.
There were plenty of complaints about the officiating in the game. Auburn had 6 penalties for 49 yards, while Arkansas had 4 for 44, but there was more to that story. Pittman also reacted to a seemingly botched fumble call, and his message to the team for the rest of the season.
Here’s some of what Pittman told the media after the game:
Sam Pittman: I feel like our team is beat up. This bye week canโt get here fast enough.

Sam Pittman said safety Jalen Catalon is going to โhave his shoulder worked onโ Monday. Heโs done for the season.
โI think itโs time for him to get that shoulder fixed. I think thatโs best for the kid.”

Cornerback LaDarrius Bishop had a hamstring injury, Sam Pittman said. It happened on Monday, and it wasnโt bad, but it tightened up as he week went on.
Markell Utsey got hurt Wednesday. Pittman said heโs confident Utsey will be back for Mississippi State.

Sam Pittman said Nathan Parodi lost the ball in the sun on the punt that hit the ground and rolled before Auburn recovered a KJ Jefferson fumble in the end zone.

โI have great belief in our football team that we can turn it around. Iโm disappointed that we lost but weโve still got a lot to play for.โ – Pittman

โThey outplayed us and he out coached me. He had his team ready and I clearly didnโt have ours ready.โ – Sam Pittman

โThey said the ball carrier was picked up which meant it couldnโt be a fumble.โ Sam Pittman on what the refs told him
