SEC basketball has never been better than it is this year, as there are legitimately 13 teams that could hear their name during Selection Sunday.

Jon Rothstein is a college basketball analyst for CBS Sports, and hosts the College Hoops Today podcasts. On Monday’s episode, Rothstein had Florida head coach Todd Golden on the show, and they started talking about what SEC teams could make a deep run in March outside the obvious candidates.

Golden was quick to respond, saying he really likes Missouri and coach Dennis Gates.

“I am a big fan of Missouri right now,” Golden said. “Obviously, they gave it to us pretty good in Gainesville. They rolled us in the first half, we battled back in the second half but lost. I have watched what they did to Mississippi State on the road.

“They are an explosive team. They are deep and have a lot of different of weapons. They play a lot of different ways. Coach Gates, I think is really difficult to prepare for. You can tell they are playing with a lot of confidence and I think Missouri is a team that can go on a deep run.”

Missouri has big wins against KU and Florida this year, and has a huge game against Alabama on Wednesday night.
