SEC daily recap: Manziel enters rehab, recruits flip and more

With National Signing Day less than two days away, the biggest SEC-related news on Monday still came from the NFL as former Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner and QB Johnny Manziel entered rehab for unspecified treatment.

Manziel’s legendary party-boy behavior in college mostly was passed off as a college kid doing college things, but reports emanating from Cleveland this season depicted an unprepared, unprofessional rookie quarterback who let alcohol and socializing prevent him from maximizing his talent.

SEC in the Super Bowl

Speaking of the NFL, several SEC players produced standout performances in Super Bowl XLIX, most notably former Kentucky WR Chris Matthews, former Alabama LB Dont’a Hightower, former Texas A&M DL Michael Bennett and former LSU WR Brandon LaFell.

It was an interesting Super Bowl for Kentucky fans, as the Wildcats aired this exciting commercial locally in addition to Matthews’ big day:
