SEC WEEK 2 NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

QUARTERBACKS

  • Maty Mauk, Mizzou (21-32, 325 yards passing, 5 TD, INT, rushing TD at Toledo) — Mauk was money on the road, downing the Rockets with a career-high six total touchdowns.
  • Kenny Hill, Texas A&M (17-26, 283 yards passing, 4 TD vs. Lamar) — Johnny Manziel’s replacement has seven touchdowns and no picks in his first two collegiate starts. He’s on fire.
  • Brandon Allen, Arkansas (4-5, 117 yards passing, 4 TD vs. Nicholls State) — Here’s a stat that won’t be matched in the SEC this season: Four completions, four touchdowns for the Razorbacks’ junior quarterback.

RUNNING BACKS

  • Cameron Artis-Payne, Auburn (16 carries, 112 yards, 3 TD vs. San Jose State) — In two quarters, Artis-Payne recorded his second straight 100-yard game and scored three times for a rushing attack that piled up 358 yards.
  • Alex Collins + Jonathan Williams, Arkansas (17 carries, 274 yards, 4 TD vs. Nicholls State) — The Razorbacks’ rushing numbers were absurd during the 73-7 win, so much so that Collins and Williams were rarely touched.

WIDE RECEIVERS

  • Amari Cooper, Alabama (13 catches, 189 yards, TD vs. Florida Atlantic) — The Crimson Tide’s top receiving threat tied a school record for single-game receptions and has eight more catches (25) than the SEC’s next closest wideout this season.
  • Travin Dural, LSU (3 catches, 140 yards, 3 TD vs. Sam Houston State) — All three of this athletic sophomore’s catches went for touchdowns as LSU shutout the Bearkats. Dural’s 140-yard effort included a 94-yard score on the Tigers’ first offensive play.
  • Marquez North, Tennessee (4 catches, 68 yards, 2 TD vs. Arkansas State) — The sophomore from Charlotte, N.C. doubled his career touchdown total with two acrobatic scoring grabs at Neyland Stadium.
