There is plenty of talent across the SEC, but teams that are expected to have the most, according to the preseason media selections, are LSU, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Those teams each had two players on the first and second all-SEC teams, as revealed by the SEC on Thursday.
The preseason Player of the Year is Florida forward Keyontae Johnson, who is 6-foot-5 and 229 pounds. Johnson in his career has averaged 10.8 points and 6.7 rebounds. Last year, he earned All-SEC honors in his sophomore campaign after leading the Gators with 14.0 points per game, and he has 12 career double-doubles and seven 20-point games. Three of his double-doubles have been 20-point, 10-rebound performances.
Kentucky and Tennessee were the only SEC teams to make it in the preseason AP Top 25. But key transfers and highly-touted freshmen also tell the story across the SEC. LSU, Florida and Alabama were all among the top vote getters outside the Top 25.
