The SEC has an absolutely loaded slate this weekend, featuring four ranked-on-ranked matchups. The Texas Longhorns and Tennessee Volunteers got the festivities started, and then the baton will pass to the Ole Miss Rebels and Florida Gators.
SEC Nation chose to go to Gainesville instead of Baton Rouge (Texas A&M-LSU) and Starkville (Missouri-Mississippi State), presumably because it believes the Rebels and Gators will put on the best show. The analysts, including Paul Finebaum, didn’t deliberate very long when making their picks, though.
“Ole Miss had a huge win last week,” Finebaum said. “Florida has a huge win this week.”
Roman Harper baited the crowd, giving it a Gator Chop before switching lanes and picking the Rebels to beat the Gators. Moments later, Chase Daniel provided a legitimate Gator Chop and chose Florida to defeat Ole Miss. That left Tim Tebow as the last man standing. He claimed to have reservations about his selection, but sided with his alma mater.
“The whole week, I went back-and-forth… genuinely,” Tebow said. “But then… I remembered something. Ole Miss has to go to The Swamp… only Gators get out alive.”
Following his choice, Tebow leapt into the crowd, getting into a frenzy with his Florida brethren. The Rebels and Gators kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
