With ESPN’s SEC Nation making their Saturday debut on the Plains, it didn’t take Paul Finebaum long to rile up the Auburn faithful.

Finebaum took umbrage with Auburn’s 2014 motto of being 13 seconds better than last year.

“I’m sorry, I’m not buying it,” said Finebaum.

As Finebaum continued with his point, host Joe Tessitore said “Don’t tell me, tell them.”

Finebaum got out of his seat and faced the Auburn fans behind the SEC Nation set amid a chorus of boos. The Mouth of South rattled off that 1) the Tigers escaped last year’s season opener against Washington State, 2) they needed to go to the wire against Texas A&M and 3) the two last-second wins against Georgia and Alabama.

Worked in online, print, TV and radio. Bobby Valentine once wore a pair of my socks for 8 hours. In an awkward exchange, he handed them back to me to which they were immediately deposited in a trash can.
