SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic shares takeaways following Week 5 action

SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic each week gives his opinion of SEC teams, and seeing South Carolina first-hand Saturday night against Kentucky, the former offensive lineman noted that the Gamecocks are committed to the run game.
“The OL is pretty good on the move, so the gap scheme stuff suits them well,” he tweeted, and added that QB Ryan Hilinski is finding his comfort zone. About Kentucky, Cubelic said the Wildcats are a different team when they can’t run the ball.
On one of the hottest teams in the league, Cubelic said Auburn has a dominant defensive line again, and holding Mississippi State to 118 yards on the ground is huge. “Love the balance on offense.”
In one of the more surprising performances of the week, Arkansas “showed some fight” as TE Cheyenne O’Grady changes the offense and is a big-time player.
About Alabama, Cubelic noted that the (run-pass option) game is running at a damn near perfect level and the offensive line has another good game, as the “right side is straight filth.”
Here are the rest of his detailed takeaways:
VANDERBILT:
Needed this win. First one can kick start lots of things. Still want to see big three featured more. Vaughn can handle the load. Pinkney needs targets. Have to create them. Angles were poor on Defense. Jerrell Cherry really flashed on that DL. Need more QB confidenceโ Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) September 29, 2019
SOUTH CAROLINA:
Committed to the run game. The OL is pretty good on the move so the gap scheme stuff suits them well. The DL was dominant vs a really good OL. Kinlaw is the real deal. Wonnum really showed up & Enagbare will help them off the edge. Hillinski finding comfort zoneโ Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) September 29, 2019
MISSISSIPPI STATE:
Yards were going to be tough to find on the ground. Shrader tough as nails but the offense needs balance to be able to battle back from 3 early scores. Front 7 has been disappointing. Did not see that. Flags & turnovers tough to overcome on the road.โ Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) September 29, 2019
FLORIDA:
Handled their business. Clean game, 0 turnovers & 4 flags. Got run game going a little. Will have to manufacture that this week. Jones might be key. Trask super efficient. Greenard pushing for SEC defensive player of the year. Will need dinged up defenders back big Satโ Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) September 29, 2019
ARKANSAS:
Showed some fight. OโGrady changes the offense. Big time player. Seemed to get Boyd going, have to keep that going. DL was active, Bell & Agim can be problematic for an OL. Tough spot for Hicks but handled it fairly well, huge scramble late. Needed one more play.โ Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) September 29, 2019
