The SEC Network’s panel of experts has revealed their power rankings entering Week 2.
Then panel, which includes Dari Nowkhah, Benjamin Watson, Alyssa Lang and Chris Doering, put Georgia as their No. 1 SEC team this week. LSU lands at No. 2 after its dominant performance against Clemson in Week 1.

LSU’s performance has vaulted the Tigers into national championship contender status — they rose into the top 10 of the AP Top 25 this week as well. Here’s an excerpt of analysis from the SEC Network crew:
Lane Kiffin and LSU made an unbelievably strong statement by handing Clemson its largest loss in Dabo Swinney’s 241 games as head coach. After the interception on LSU’s second offensive snap that gave Clemson a field goal, LSU scored 51 unanswered points. The LSU defense did not allow the Clemson offense to cross midfield until late in the fourth quarter, when the starters were long out of the game. LSU proved outside noise is not going to distract them; if anything, it only adds to their motivational fuel.
Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Texas all tied for the No. 3 spot in the SEC Network’s power rankings. The Longhorns are perhaps the most notable of that bunch given that they face Ohio State in Austin this weekend. Oklahoma also has a tough nonconference assignment in Week 2 as it will travel to Ann Arbor this weekend.
The SEC made history by going 16-0 in Week 1.
