The SEC has produced more current NFL players than any other conference in America, and many of the Southeast’s former stars have continued to shine at football’s highest level.

Here are the best performances by SEC alums throughout the NFL in Week 7 action last weekend:

OFFENSE

  • Peyton Manning: The former Tennessee Vol had a historic night against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. Manning threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns. Most importantly, his third touchdown pass of the night broke Brett Favre’s NFL record for career touchdown passes. Manning currently has 510 TD passes and he’ll surely add to his lead throughout the season.
  • Eli Manning:  The youngest of the Manning brothers also enjoyed a successful Week 7, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns. Manning’s New York Giants were unable to derail the scorching hot Dallas Cowboys, but he is quietly enjoying one of his better seasons in recent memory.
  • Ryan Tannehill: Miami played one of its best games all season, due in large part to its quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The former Aggie threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns, all while completing his first 14 passes. It was his third consecutive game with multiple touchdown passes.
  • Eddie Lacy: Green Bay’s starting running back stood out on Sunday, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown. He also added three receptions and a modest 10 receiving yards in the Packers’ big win.
  • Odell Beckham: The first round pick out of LSU added another two touchdowns to his exciting rookie season over the weekend. Beckham, who’s quickly becoming a reliable red zone target, caught four passes for just 34 yards in the Giants’ loss. He continues to get better with each passing week.
  • Randall Cobb: Another week, another standout performance from Green Bay’s do-it-all wide receiver. Cobb racked up six catches and 121 yards in the Packers’ blowout win over Carolina.

DEFENSE

  • Dont’a Hightower: Alabama’s former star linebacker continues doing big things in the NFL. This week, Hightower led the New England Patriots with 13 total tackles and one sack. New England defeated the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football, 27-25.
  • Marcell Dareus: Another Crimson Tide standout enjoyed a big weekend in Week 7. Dareus recorded multiple sacks, along with four tackles in Buffalo’s last-second win over the Minnesota Vikings. His strong play has anchored a fierce Buffalo defensive line.
