Mizzou is among the teams expected to be in the mix to land former Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, according to a report.
That’s per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who notes that Mizzou will be joined by the likes of Baylor, Louisville and Virginia in pursuing Lagway. Despite a tough 2025 campaign in Gainesville, Lagway is still viewed as one of the best-available quarterbacks in this transfer portal cycle.
Lagway spent 2 years at Florida after signing with the Gators as a 5-star prospect. He battled injuries throughout his time at UF and left the program with 4,179 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.
Mizzou is in the quarterback market following the announcement that Beau Pribula will enter the transfer portal. The Tigers do have freshman quarterback Matt Zollers as well, although the Tigers may look for a more experienced option in 2026 before handing the keys to Zollers.
Baylor has long been viewed as a strong contender for Lagway. He attended Willis High School (Texas), which is located about 150 miles from Baylor’s campus in Waco. His father, Derek Lagway, played running back at Baylor in the 1990s.
The transfer portal officially opened on Friday and will be open for a period of 2 weeks.
